How do I create a new “Field”?

To create a new Field:

iOS: on iPad, select the contact's Fields page; on iPhone, select the contact's Info page. In both cases, press the + button to see the "New User Field" page. Select "Field" to see the list of existing fields, and select the + button here to bring up the New Field page.
You can also add, delete, rearrange and rename your fields from the More -> Manage Data -> Fields page

Mac: select the contact's Fields page, then press the + button on top-right to see the list of existing fields. Select "New Field" to bring up the New Field page. You can also add, delete, rearrange and rename your fields from the Contacts Journal Preferences -> Manage Data -> Fields page.

Once a field has been added, it will show up in the list of existing fields from the contact's Fields list. You can select it, and add the value for that contact.
